SA Pork has laid the foundation for a new ‘myth busters’ campaign that will kick off at the end of October 2023. Its primary purpose is to dispel pork myths and promote the intrinsic value of pork among the mid- to lower-LSM (Living Standards Measure) market. We are proud to announce that we have forged a valuable relationship with the Stellenbosch University’s Division of Human Nutrition, which has created a library of pork facts supported by academic research.
“For us at SAPPO, it is essential to communicate facts about fresh pork underpinned by a credible source. I’m super excited about this relationship with the nutrition faculty and how it will support our communication efforts.”
Christian Zimelka, head of SA Pork
The campaign will initially target consumers in Soweto through various social media platforms, including Suzy and Zach (our Facebook mascots). It will be rolled out nationally soon thereafter.
Herewith are a few print prototype designs that will be finalised later this month for social media and other print platforms.
The South African Pork Producers’ Organisation (SAPPO) coordinates industry interventions and collaboratively manages risks in the value chain to enable the sustainability and profitability of pork producers in South Africa.
