Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SA Pork was forced to shut down all pork promotional activities and tastings for a while. A further decision was taken that for 2022, no live tastings, in-store demos, or events would be utilised to promote pork until research showed that consumer sentiment displayed positivity towards in-store tastings and food promotions again. SA Pork is now in the process of researching this sentiment and strategically determining a way forward for 2023.
The first step is to partner with various chefs in the main cities to assist us in strategically determining how we could plan and execute promotional activities for 2023. This would include where to promote and what to promote, all in a cost-effective and innovative way. We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Chef Peter at the Sense of Taste Chef School in Cape Town to focus on addressing promotional activity requirements around the Western Cape region for 2023.
We are currently in discussions with various other chef partnership candidates for the Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal regions.
