The highly anticipated annual gathering of the South African Pork Producers’ Organisation (SAPPO) with primary producers and value chain stakeholders officially opened on Wednesday 7 September with the annual general meeting. During this session, business unit leaders at SAPPO were afforded the opportunity to provide a frank overview of the state of the industry and share their role in SAPPO’s strategic response, including their plans for the future of each portfolio.
Johann Kotzé presented feedback from the National Council meeting regarding provincial sow numbers and introduced the National Council and Executive Board, while the financial statements were presented in video format by the auditors, Middel & Partners.
The South African Pork Producers’ Organisation (SAPPO) coordinates industry interventions and collaboratively manages risks in the value chain to enable the sustainability and profitability of pork producers in South Africa.
