After a week of sifting through the 159 valid entries for the DRUM Food Ambassador project, the twelve finalists have been identified by a panel of expert foodies and editors. This is SAPPO’s biggest consumer education project this year.
The announcement of these cooks will be published on the DRUM website and in the publication’s print and digital issues during the next two weeks. Readers and digital users can now still vote for their favourite menu.
“Pork shanks, a really tasty cut that appeals to, and represents the usage of the DRUM market, was clearly a most popular choice among the entrants. We are particularly happy about so many good entries coming from Gauteng,” says SAPPO’s marketing manager, Marieta Human.
The twelve finalists will battle it out for a 12-month job contract as Junior Food Editor of DRUM at the Capsicum Culinary Studio in Johannesburg on 12 May. View the finalists and the wonderful dishes they created with pork.
The South African Pork Producers’ Organisation (SAPPO) coordinates industry interventions and collaboratively manages risks in the value chain to enable the sustainability and profitability of pork producers in South Africa.
