On Tuesday 19 July, the team from SA Pork accompanied Kirby Kruger from Gazebo Academy and her film crew to the Western Cape to spend a day near Malmesbury with Dave Osborne. The footage that was filmed will form part of the series of videos for SAPPO SELEKT, which will launching at the SAPPO AGM & EXPO on 7 and 8 September 2022.
SAPPO SELEKT is a new initiative that was born out of the need to close the gap between farmers and consumers. Research has shown that many consumers still don’t know exactly where their food comes from and have an inaccurate perception about the people that produce it. The initiative has two main focus areas:
- Communicating today’s world of agriculture to consumers
- Introducing farmers and what they care about to consumers
