SAPPO is contributing to making agriculture more environmentally friendly, sustainable, and future-focused by working alongside farmers who produce pork across southern Africa.
SAPPO Selekt – the content platform of the South African Pork Producers’ Organisation (SAPPO) – provides insights into farming and South Africa’s agricultural sector to help consumers better understand where their food comes from and how it is produced.
The second season of four short films, which features a number of SAPPO farmers, closes the knowledge gap between diversified farmers and South African consumers, whether they buy their pork from the farm, local butcher, or at the supermarket. The short films answer questions like how pork farmers are using waste byproducts from their farms to create alternative energy solutions and harnessing renewable resources to minimise their environmental footprint.
