This year’s annual general meeting (AGM) is about networking of primary producers with value chain stakeholders. It will deliver a combination of formats and interactive experiences that showcase all the dimension of the entire pork value chain. The main event will revolve around pig farmers telling their stories. More than 320 delegates have registered and 23 exhibitors will have stands for the expo.
On the first day, aside from the official procedural formalities, the AGM meeting will provide a frank overview of the state of the industry and SAPPO’s strategic response. SAPPO members will have an opportunity to engage with all the SAPPO staff and get a glimpse into the future of each portfolio. This will be followed by the EXPO that was designed to maximise the industry’s opportunity to network whilst celebrating the industry’s collective story. Three video session on key industry stakeholders is bound to stimulate discussion on the values and resilience of the industry.
In the afternoon, motivational speaker Caroline Ravenall, is set to captivate our souls and inspire us to act courageously in times of change. Thereafter, evening drinks will be enjoyed as a prelude to the gala dinner. On the following day, a thought-provoking panel discussion on the importance of sharing our story will allow delegates to engage critically with a diversity of perspective. The event will draw to a close with a final session of exhibiting and lunch.
