SAPPO’s successful debut at NAMPO

SAPPO proudly marked its debut as an exhibitor at NAMPO 2025, using the opportunity to boost brand awareness and engage with a broad and diverse audience. From producers and students to government officials and families, SAPPO’s stand attracted more than 870 visitors through interactive activities and educational content.

A three-pillar focus

The stand was built around SAPPO’s three focus areas: SA Pork, Pork 360, and the SAPPO Academy. Each was represented on its own plinth, guiding visitors through SAPPO’s core work. By scanning QR codes, guests could answer questions and, if correct, spin a virtual wheel to win a prize. This dynamic format encouraged learning in a fun and engaging way.

SAPPO shared valuable insights on pig farming, food safety, and the Pork 360 consumer assurance programme through this activity. One of the most surprising facts for many was that pork is safe to eat when cooked to a medium point, which sparked interest and discussion.

A gift with meaning

A standout giveaway at the SAPPO stand was a handcrafted wooden walking stick, made possible through a partnership with the Walking the Talk Foundation. The organisation is committed to improving education in rural communities, and SAPPO’s support symbolised its ongoing commitment to upliftment and community development.

Firm foundations for the future

The positive feedback received during the event affirmed SAPPO’s direction and strategy. As a first-time exhibitor, the organisation is proud of what was achieved and excited to build on this momentum. Plans are already underway to make next year’s participation even more impactful.

SAPPO’s debut at NAMPO was more than just an exhibition – it was a meaningful step in connecting with the public, strengthening the industry’s image, and promoting trust in South African pork.
