On Monday 31 October, SAPPO’s head of consumer education, Christian Zimelka attended the celebration and launch of the 2023 JHP Gourmet Guide and the announcement of the awarded plated chefs and restaurants. The event was held at #MakersLanding at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, a food destination to nurture small businesses and showcase talent.
In the company of some of South Africa’s most talented chefs, SAPPO was able to celebrate with many of the winners including our SA Pork chef partner – Chef Peter from Sense of Taste Chef School.
He took home one of the main awards of the day titled: Purpose and Passion for 2023. He received the award in acknowledgement of that he and his team are doing in the training of aspiring young chefs from various disadvantaged communities.
