Welcome to PIGX1 – The first of its kind in our industry!

The South African Pork Producers’ Organisation (SAPPO) coordinates industry interventions and collaboratively manages risks in the value chain to enable the sustainability and profitability of pork producers in South Africa. SAPPO is facilitating an upcoming event at the Future Africa campus in Pretoria, scheduled for 27‒28 July. The event, called PIGX1, is a Ted Talk-inspired presentation model that we are super excited about. We are expecting approximately 250 delegates, and the programme features an exciting line-up of local and international speakers.

At PIGX1, we strive to bring together professionals across the entire pork production value chain to create an inspiring and vibrant community where we can share ideas, connect, and explore new possibilities. With a wide array of topics, speakers, and performances, PIGX1 is not just another industry or marketing conference. It is a platform of diverse voices bridging scientific ideas with value chain practices to foster learning, inspiration, and collaboration.

SAPPO is committed to making PIGX1 an industry-inclusive event and want it to be a safe and accessible space for everyone to come together and have meaningful dialogue about the future of pork production. We are passionate about creating a platform where all ideas are heard, respected, and embraced. We believe in the power of collective action and unlocking the potential of the pork production community. That is why PIGX1 is aimed at the South African pork community where we can come together to build meaningful relationships, challenge existing behaviour, and be inspired by new ideas.
