Denmark delegation visits SAPPO

Representatives from the Dalum Academy of Agricultural Business in Denmark visited SAPPO between 24 and 28 January. SAPPO initiated the visit following the 12 weeks academic programme offered by Dalum to SAPPO’s business development managers in July 2021.

“The aim of the visit was to expose the Dalum course presenters to the South African pig industry and to experience the variety of production methods practised by pork producers in South Africa. This will enable them to develop future programme content, which will be in line with South African practices,” says Kgadi Senyatsi who heads SAPPO’s Business Development division. They visited farmers in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KZN and the Western Cape.

Dalum Academy delegates also met with the Western Cape department of agriculture to establish a possible academic relationship.

The South African Pork Producers’ Organisation (SAPPO) coordinates industry interventions and collaboratively manages risks in the value chain to enable the sustainability and profitability of pork producers in South Africa.
