Agbiz strongly welcomes the State of the Nation Address by President Cyril Ramaphosa today, and especially welcomes the general thrust of his SONA’s focus on revitalising the economy, strengthening education and skills development, restructuring and optimising service delivery by state-owned institutions, and above all the commitment to root out corruption and state capture. Building on his new approach adopted in the 2018 SONA of instilling a changed vision of hope, unity, service and prosperity, the President has already put in place action plans to address the daunting challenges that confront South Africa and its people.

Agri SA welcomes President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address delivered Thursday evening. Agri SA emphasizes and commits itself to President Ramaphosa’s assertion that it is every South African’s responsibility to ensure progress.

 “The President’s commitment to steer the South African ship out of difficult waters can be praised,” said Dan Kriek, Agri SA’s President. “The State of the Nation Address must be seen against the backdrop of large-scale corruption, a weakened economy, the dismantling of institutions and the dire state of semi-state institutions such as Eskom that have characterized South Africa for years. Now is the time to take hands and work together.”

The National Emergent Red Meat Producers’ Organisation (NERPO) welcomes the State of the Nation Address (SONA) presented by the State President, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa on 7 February 2019. The State of the Nation Address was a well-balanced and comprehensive plan with clear direction. The President reflected very well on the progress made over the past year, especially efforts to stimulate growth of our economy. The President was not shy to accept publicly the mistakes the government and the ruling party have committed.
