The World of Pork (WOP) is an integrated platform that offers stakeholders in the South African pork value chain a protected environment to share information and facilitate interactions that create value and drive competitiveness, sustainability and food safety in the pork industry.
Consumer education
SAPPO Selekt – the content platform of the South African Pork Producers’ Organisation (SAPPO) – provides insights into farming and South Africa’s agricultural sector to help consumers better understand where their food comes from and how it is produced.
Consumer assurance
The main objective of the Pork 360 programme is to address consumer concerns around food safety and welfare, including environmental stewardship, biosecurity, and traceability. The requirements to qualify for Pork 360 membership include environmental stewardship, adherence to animal welfare standards, and residue control.

SAPPO Academy offers comprehensive and flexible online courses for individuals seeking to enhance their knowledge of pig production and management. With SAPPO Academy, learners can gain the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage a pig farm.
